Minimally Invasive

MINIMALLY INVASIVE COSMETIC PROCEDURES
The most prevalent minimally invasive aesthetic procedures are listed below :

  • Botox injection: Botulinum toxin injections, often referred to by the product names BOTOX® Cosmetic or Myobloc®, are biological toxins (botulinum toxin) which are transformed into a therapeutic agent. Botox is used for the treatment of frown lines, forehead furrows, "crow's feet," lines and wrinkles of the lower face, and even nasal muscles (to decrease nostril flaring). Botox injections have proven to be a very popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure. Plastic surgeons have found that the type of lines and wrinkles that respond best to botox injections are those caused by muscles that contract during facial expressions such as frowning or squinting.
  • Collagen, fat, and other tissue filler injections (such as hyaluronic acid): injections plump up creased, furrowed, or sunken facial skin; add fullness to lips and backs of hands. They work best on thin, dry, light-colored skin.
  • Chemical peel: This procedure minimizes the appearance of acne, pock, and other scars as well as wrinkles (depending on concentration and type of agent used, except for deep furrows), solar lentigines (age spots, freckles), and photodamage in general. The chemical solution peels away skin's top layers. It works best on fair, thin skin with superficial wrinkles. Chemical peels commonly consist of carbolic acid (Phenol), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), glycolic acid (AHA), or salicylic acid (BHA) as the active agent.
